Brief History

The Curriculum Development and Instructional Materials Centre (CUDIMAC) was established by the Carnegie Corporation New York in 1972 (through a grant for an initial period of three years) as a service Centre for the Faculty of Education,  University of Nigeria Nsukka and to other educational outfits within and outside the university such as Faculties, Primary and Secondary schools as well as Ministries of Education in the current South-East and South-South Geo-Political zones of Nigeria. Since its inception in 1972, CUDIMAC as a pioneer curriculum and Instructional Materials/media development Centre has passed through transformational phases of providing instructional support services to teachers at all levels of education in Nigeria. Thus, it has evolved from a local, national instructional media, and Curriculum Materials Development Centre to a globally competitive Research-Based Education Centre that adopts clinical approaches in meeting the critical and strategic pedagogical needs of the 21st century knowledge-based innovative university system and other institutions of learning in Nigeria.
